The NAP is a strategic instrument that will guide adaptation to climate change at the national and subnational levels, within the framework of the Framework Law on Climate Change and its Regulations and the Paris Agreement.
By 2050, Peru will be a country fully adapted to the impacts of climate change thanks to the strong implementation of a science-based climate change policy.
Implement the Framework Law on Climate Change - No. 30754 and its Regulations (LMCC and RLMCC). Consolidate and guide the adaptation agenda with a long-term perspective, aligned with the time horizons of the NAP.
Contribute to the implementation of Peru's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) on adaptation, as well as their future updates.
Contribute to updating the National Strategy on Climate Change (ENCC).
Contribute to the implementation of adaptation measures (MACC) at the national and sub-national levels.
Guide the reduction of vulnerability and increase the adaptability and resilience of the most vulnerable people and sectors of society.
Establish an effective financing strategy for the implementation of the MACC.

NAP consists of 8 sections: objectives, context, vulnerabilities and impacts, planning and implementation, M&E, finance strategy, communications strategy, limits and opportunities. Annexes consist of a stakeholder map, indicators, & adaptation measures.
